Surgery Evaluations Hermosa Beach

Dr. Papillon began doing surgery evaluations ten years ago. She will do these for plastic surgery, bariatric surgery, extensive reconstructive surgery, and all other invasive procedures that require an experienced clinician's expertise on the mental readiness for the surgery to have, not only an excellent chance during the process but to protect against any possible long-term outcomes that could be damaging to the whole experience.

Dr. Papillon is very thorough in the evaluation, including having the patient complete a comprehensive questionnaire created by both the staff of the surgery group the patient is going to or what Dr. Papillon has done with that particular surgery in the past. She has the patient answer the questions in the office, with Dr. Papillon asking the patient the questions and filling out that part of the evaluation. Other recommended processes may be introduced, depending on the patient and the surgeon.

The surgeon will then get the completed evaluation by fax or by email (depending on the request) plus a definitive answer as to the readiness for surgery.

Many times the surgeon is told that the patient must be in psychotherapy for a period of time, up to six months, before the patient is ready to do the invasive procedure.

Thus, Dr. Papillon can stand behind any evaluation ultimately given to both the patient and the surgeon (unless contraindicated, then only to the surgeon requesting the information). Dr. Papillon has become a trusted evaluator over these years of experience and welcomes any assistance from the surgeon in order for the surgeon to feel comfortable proceeding further with the patient who has requested this type of surgery.
